Assess the impact of conflict on Arab-Israeli relations in the period 1956 to 1973
The period of 1956-1973 saw much conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbours, Egypt, Jordan and Syria. However, all the conflicts were vital in its impact on Arab-Israeli relations, both in a negative and also positive way. Although the conflicts of the time did not directly create a peace agreement between Israel and the Arab States, they did build the foundations in which peace agreements would have been made possible in the future to come. The road, which the Arab-Israeli conflict would take, and the peace agreements made depended greatly on the conflicts in the period 1956-1973 and the impact they had on Arab-Israeli relations. The Suez-Sinai War, Six-Day War, War of Attrition, Yom Kippur War and the events of the 1972 Munich Olympics all played an important role in Arab-Israeli relations.
