Shannon Rishky English 102-003 July 5, 2004 Review/Opinion Essay My Sanctuary On those occasional days when the environment around me seems to be filled with chaos, I escape to the tranquility of the Thomas Kinkade Gallery located in the Boise Town Square Mall. The instant I enter the door of this small, yet magnificent gallery my heart rate begins to slow down and my mind starts focusing on the beauty this artist creates. Walking slowly through each delicately lit showroom I admire a more peaceful and serene world. This is what I consider my sanctuary. When I come across a painting I particularly admire, it enables me to look beyond the world at large. I am able to place myself into the scene. A surreal feeling of freedom comes over me like nothing I have ever known. A Light In The Storm and The Sea Of Tranquility are two of the prints I have purchased from this gallery and are part of his lighthouse series.
