Political ideology is what drives American politics today. The nation was founded on the difference in opinion, for a democracy calls for the voice of the people. People do not express a unanimous voice, and that allows for variety in beliefs. Political ideology is the difference in philosophies on how to run a society, allocating powers and constructing political thoughts. Often these political ideologies form political parties, which have evolved since the Revolutionary War. Usually these parties base their views on moral order, more often than not in act of their own specific interests.
Due to our democratic type of government, political parties continue to try and influence the mass public by the media. Political ideologies come in two categories; views on how society should work and formulating ways to make the best society.
