One night Ponyboy and his best friend are on their way home, suddenly five rich kids comes and surround them. Everything goes so fast, punches and kicks and before he knows whats going on Ponyboy are lying on the ground and sees a bloody knife..
Curtis, also called Ponyboy is a fourteen year old teenager, he belongs to the greasers. By that I mean he are grown up in a poor neighbourhood, lack of money and even without any parents. He got two older brothers, Darry the oldest, its the one who takes care of him and its his role model for Ponyboy. The other brother Sodapop as they call him are the one that gets a lot of girls attention and people around him. The neighbourhood is like a family, the people around them help everybody out and specially Curtis and his brothers. The three brothers belongs to a gang called the greasers. They are constantly in fights with the richer kids, the socs.
