Qin Shinuangdi was a mass of contradictions as the first emperor of the Chin Dynasty. He was depicted as being ruthless, reclusive, and also a visionary. He was ruthless because he forced thousands of people to work on ineffectual monuments. Shinuangdi was reclusive because of at least three full scale assassinations attempts on him. He was also a visionary because he saw China to grow to be the center of the universe and saw a grand future for China. Qin Shinuangdi was not just a ruthless emperor but a ruthless worrier. Before Qin Shinuangdi became emperor he led a kingdom of people and eventually slaughtered, destroyed, and conquered the six kingdoms and formed a single country dubbed China. He decided that he was so powerful that he was of one with the gods so, he decided to create a profligate burial for himself. He needed thousand of workers for the burial site to be dug up and then to craft 8000 terracotta worriers, horses, and chariots took many years and lots of hard labor.
