Tom stood frozen on the window ledge, his forehead beaded with sweat. He yearned to be on the other side of that window. Then he realized he had to make a decision. He could use all his might and crash through the window or his plan could backfire and he could bounce off the window, fall off the building and come crashing down into the nighttime traffic. Tom summoned up his courage and drove his fists into the window, causing the glass to shatter into a million pieces as he dove into the room.
He hit the cobblestone floor hard and opened his eyes to find he wasnt in his apartment anymore. Loud trumpets blared from the window he has just broken through. He looked out the large stone window and saw people of the renaissance ages crowded around an intimidating guillotine. Puzzled, he turned around and saw hypnotized faces focusing on him with drinks and popcorn in their hands. Toms eyes scanned the front row, stopping at his wife. She gazed at him but didnt seem to recognize her own husband. Thats when it struck him; he was in the movie his wife left to see.
