Slavery has been going on for so many years, and was banned in most countries by the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 1956 United Nations Supplementary Convention of the Abolition of Slavery, the Slave Trade and Institutions and Practices Similar to Slavery.
However, although all this has happened, it doesnt stop slavery from carrying on today. It goes on all over the world, no matter where you are, even in More Economically Developed Countries. As a matter of fact, today, there are over 100,000 slaves in the U.S.A alone, most of them involved in the sex trade. Most of the slaves which are sold for sex are immigrants from countries in need for jobs to earn money. These immigrants, including children, are offered jobs by pimps, and are then forced into prostitution and free labour. This is the story of a former sex slave called Rosa.
The money Rosa was earning in a Turkish shoe factory was not enough to support the three children she had left behind in Ukraine.
Then her new friend in Turkey, Katerina, told her she could earn $700 a month as a casino waitre......
