To get an indication of the role which the print media play or should play, i.e. informing the public about the disease and related issues surrounding HIV/Aids by using a combination of fair/objective/subjective and fact-based writing, one needs to look at elements such as South Africa’s socio-culture which plays a major part in the public’s perception and understanding of HIV/Aids.
