Good Morning Everyone. My incident was Eltons Proposal. This Chapter begins when the males of the group join the women in the drawing room after tea. Elton seats himself between Emma and Mrs Weston and pleads with Emma not to visit the sick Harriet until Dr Perry confirms that Harriet is not infectious. Emma gets offended and goes to sit with Isabella. John Knightley wants to get back to Hartfield. In the confusion and rush to leave, before the snow begins to fall, Emma and Mr Elton are left to ride together alone in the second carriage. Elton seizes Emmas hand and declares that he will die if she refuses his proposal of marriage. Emma playfully tells Elton that he is mistaking her for Harriet but Elton replies by saying they are only friends. He loves only her. He then repeats his proposal and urges her acceptance. Emma excuses Elton of being unsteady in his character, but he assures her that he only has eyes for her and must not be misinterpreted.
