Frederick Douglass Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

About 105 years ago, a man died, helping the world with his accomplishments while spreading them with sorrow for his death. That man was Frederick Douglass. There’s a saying that can describe any courageous person, “A coward dies a thousand times. A brave man dies only once.” This saying relates to how Frederick Douglass’s death silenced people, dying only once, but as a brave man. Frederick Douglass was born on February 7, 1817 in Tuckahoe, Maryland as a slave. His birth name was Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey(later on you’ll find out why he changed his name). Until he was seven, he lived with his mother and grandmother. Frederick’s father was rumored to also be his white master, Aaron Anthony. Unfortunate news struck when Frederick’s mother died. At that time he was seven years old. Frederick’s grandmother lived with him until she gave him up to the Lloyd Plantation where he was companioned with Daniel Lloyd, the youngest son of the plantation owner.
