The beginning of the second half of the soccer game changed my life forever. It all started on a nice day in October, October 5, 2002 to be exact. I was playing a soccer game in Birmingham, AL against the Mountain Brook Angels when my life was changed. It was the second game of the day and everyone was so fatigued from the heat. I had been playing goalie for the whole first game, and I was able to get out into the field for the second game. The second half had just started when this girl came charging at me, not slowing down at all. With the ball at my feet, this girl takes my knee right out from under me. At that moment I knew something was wrong with my leg, and I knew that I wasnt going to be able to get up for a while.
As soon as my coaches tried picking me up, we all heard a big pop! I had just torn my ACL. I was in pure agony; and no one could make the pain go away and help me at that time, not until I was able to get home and relax.
