In the movie “Whose life is it anyway” a horrific car crash leaves Ken Harrison the major character in the film a quadriplegic that has robbed him of everything but his active and fertile mind. When assessing this film, with reference to the place and significance of leisure as defined from a religious perspective as being “the pursuit of a free, active, and responsible engagement in work, play and worship”, we need to look into Ken’s life past and present. We need to ask ourselves what quality of life could Ken enjoy in the future given his physical limitations and perhaps more importantly would you or I be satisfied to live life as we see Ken living life in the movie?
