The assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, was a great and tragic event in the history of this country. Those who wanted equality for all Americans mourned his passing. After Lincolns death, the questions about what really happened on April 14, 1864, have not been answered. Many theories have developed over the years. There are three major theories that have survived ridicule: Andrew Johnson was involved with John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln died by way of a simple conspiracy organized by John Wilkes Booth, and the Roman Catholic Church was behind Lincolns assassination.
