Harold, Kumar and Success Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Harold, Kumar and Success In the movie, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle; a film directed by Danny Leiner, there is a prevailing theme that is success both how and why it should be achieved. The main characters in the film have contrasting views of success, and this seemingly odd couple, Harold and Kumar, strive to achieve their goals in notably different ways. These two characters are paired together under the influence of marijuana for the most part of the movie and although they may have the same short term goal, their long term goals and concept on what life should be are on opposite sides of the spectrum, which makes for an entertaining film to say the least. First of all, there is Kumar Patel, a college graduate yet he is your typical non-motivated stoner that is simply looking to have a good time as soon and as much as possible. He is shown in the movie as not taking what should be a crucial medical school interview as a joke, and stating quite honestly that he is only having the interview to appease his father.
