The strategy of ethnic war basically surrounds the theory of ethnic cleansing. Ethnic cleansing is the practice where in a given territory the membors of a given ethnic group are systematically eliminated in order to achieve the goal of making the area ethnically pure. In Bosnia the ethnic cleansing carried out by the Serbs generally followed a five-step process. The first was concentration, the surrounding of the area to be cleansed, and the warning of the local population. Often they are told to leave, and if not, the cleansing force intimidates them by marking their house or something similar.
