Supply Chains are an important aspect of business regardless of whether the business is a brick and mortar establishment or an E-business. Supply chains incorporate every aspect from production and manufacturing to shipping and receiving. There are some differences, however, in the supply chains depending upon whether or not the business is e-based or the traditional brick and mortar based business. The E-business can often eliminate some of the steps within the traditional supply chain and can focus its attention more on the ability to manufacture and ship products quickly to meet the consumers needs. The Target Corporation has the challenge of having to develop a strong supply chain for their traditional stores and then successfully adapt that supply chain to meet the needs of the new ventures that they have taken on with their Web Site. To evaluate the differences Team C has chosen to use the Target Corporation as an example of how the traditional Target store modified it existing supply chain to meet the needs of their new E-business operations.
