Ephriam Romm
Ephraim Romm was 15 years old at the beginning of World War II, living in Konvo and attending one of the Hebrew high schools. At that time the Jewish population in Konvo was roughly around 25% of the city's total population. Many of which lived in Konvo were a professional of some kind, mostly including doctors and lawyers.
When the first day of war began, Ephraim was enjoying his summer vacation with his fathers at his brother's house. While he was fishing in a nearby river, he heard booming noises that he soon later found out to be bombs being dropped in a surrounding city. From that day on, everything was different.
When he returned to his home he found his city flooded with Germans, everyday, little by little, those Germans began taking away the lives of his and others that were rightfully theirs. It began with the Jewish star that they protested them to wear. Then they moved all the Jews to the poorest houses in the city, sooner or later evacuating every Jewish Citizen of Konvo into the Ghetto.
