The holocaust is single-handedly one of the most horrific events of the twentieth century that will never be forgotten. At the end of World War II, six million Jews lay murdered through the battlegrounds of a blood soaked Europe due to Hitlers Nazi Germany. So many people could have done so much to save lives, yet only on really prevailed, putting his life and economy in jeopardy to save eleven hundred Jews. Today, thanks to Oskar Schindler, over six thousand Jews remain alive throughout the world because of his brave actions and just cause. The atrocities of the holocaust are sickening to see such evil that people are capable of displaying; however, the actions of Oskar Schindler show good can arise even in the darkest of situations. The word holocaust is of the Greek origin, meaning sacrifice by fire. That is exactly what happened throughout Europe under Hitlers regime. The Nazis also targeted other groups because of their perceived racial inferiority. Those persecuted consisted of: Gypsies, Slavs, Jews, homosexuals, and anyone who didnt agree with the Nazi ideal.......
