Of Mice and Men Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Intro to book: Well reading the first section of the novel Of Mice and Men, the two characters Lennie and George have a relationship in which one is subserviently humble to the other. In figure, Lennie is a huge man, shapeless of face, with large pale eyes, and wide sloping shoulders. George is well defined in all of his features. The two of them share a special bond even though one may seem overpowered by the other. George is as a role-model unto Lennie, though Lennie may tower over him. He instructs Lennie where to go in case something happens. Lennie throughout that section shows an obsession for touching things which consist of a smooth or a furry surfaces (mice). Overall George in perspective needs someone to boss around and Lennie needs someone to take orders from. John Steinbeck is a demonstration of a writer who demeans men in his writing. In the novel of Of Mice and Men the author, John Steinbeck, emasculates men in his novel by setting a scenery of poverty, loneliness and emasculation.
