After reading more or less 30 chapters of a book written by a female writer in the name of Lualhati Bautista, I found out some realizations concerning the society, that is not that visible or recognized and remain to be unopened in the eyes of the others. The novel, having its title as Dekada 70, has a lot of meanings and it depends upon how the readers react on it. Probably one of the main reasons why it is titled like this is because the novels setting and its main story happened during the year 1970s 80s. And if youre a Filipino, surely you knew that this era is one of the darkest years of the Philippines, and that makes sense when the author revealed it in the novel through the characters and the different things happened to them. The author, a female writer, who had received a lot of awards, who was also the author of other books such as Bata Bata Paano ko Ginawa?, has a way of making an emphasis on the social status of every woman in this society.
