Animal cloning remains to be a challenge for scientists to perfect, and is causing many conflicts and reasons for cloning not to be done.
The definition of an animal clone, as defined by Encyclopedia Britannica is an individual organism that was grown from a single body cell of its parent and that is genetically identical to it. (Kendall, 2004) Cloning from adult cells means that it is possible to be more certain ahead of time what the cloned animal will be like. (Kendall, 2004, 3) Basically what this means is that scientists take an adult cell and artificially create an exact duplicate of the adult animal they took the cell from. One example of animal cloning occurred in 1997 when a sheep, named Dolly, was cloned using genetic material from a non-embryonic cell, which is otherwise known as an adult cell.
